Spud goes Pop: Introducing Troye Sivan, the SA born prince of pop

Troye Sivan is ready to shake off his Spud roots (see what we did there?) and show the world who he really is: a superstar pop icon to rival even Justin Bieber.

The actor, who starred in the hit local franchise Spud, was born in SA but raised in Australia (still, we'll claim it) and has been making serious waves internationally, especially after the release of his new EP, which features the hit single Happy Little Pill, reached number one on iTunes in 21 on pre-orders alone.

But Troye is no stranger to the limelight: he's a star on screen, featuring as a young wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As much as he is online, where he has become an internet superstar with a YouTube channel with subscriptions in the millions and millions of social media fans who cling onto his every word, no wonder he was described by Liberty Voice as the successor to Justin Biebers throne.

With a debut albums still to be released and his fame showing no signs of letting up, this is one (SA BORN!) star to watch out for.
