The world remembers Mandela

Today marks the one year anniversary of Nelson Mandela's death.

The 95-year-old statesman and struggle hero died at his Houghton home on 5 December 2013.

Tata Madiba's memory and life will be celebrated with an official government ceremony in Freedom Park today. Earlier in the week government revealed that bells will be rung, vuvuzelas will be blown and a wreath by other struggle veterans will be laid to honour Madiba.

President Jacob Zuma also urged the country to remember Madiba's vision today and to do something that honours what he stood for.
