Tongue in Cheek premieres tonight

After weeks of anticipation and excitement the day has finally arrived.

The first episode of the country's latest talk show airs tonight on SABC3. Produced by Janez Vermeiren, hosted by Anele Mdoda and a panel that includes Michael de Pinna, Carolyn Steyn and Shashi Naidoo, let's just say you're in for a treat.

The show, which is based on the format of The View and The Talk, will tackle current affairs issues, bring you the latest gossip, fashion trends and dissect what's going on in celebville.

The Juice was invited to a behind-the-scenes peek of what it takes to produce the show and what viewers can expect.

Host Anele Mdoda explained that she had always wanted to do a talk show, but there was nothing out there that appealed to her until now. "We want to change the way people watch television in South Africa," she said.

Model Shashi Naidoo, who is returning to the small screen after five years, said she was petrified yet  excited about the shows premier.

Socialite Carolyn Steyn explained that it had always been her dream to be on a talk show, so when the opportunity arrived she grabbed it with open arms.

We've seen them in action and must admit that their unique personalities make for great TV.  They each bring a certain dynamic to the show. Anele's witty sense of humour coupled with Michael's wicked charm had the audience in stitches for much of the show. While, Shashi and Carolyn's cheeky, yet strongly opinionated views add a sense of balance.

Catch it all tonight at 8.30pm on SABC3.
