Johannesburg - Hip-Hop legend Tuks has one word to say about those pesky rumours about him being broke: Gafa.
The Bona Fela singer made headlines in February, when it was alleged that he was broke, and unable to pay his bond and credit card debts.
But when The Juice spoke to Tuks recently he had only one word in response: Gafa.
Besides it being the name of Tuk's latest single, Gafa is also "a phrase to explain an unfortunate situation where you can neither confirm nor deny," Tuks explains.
And, although he says the song was not inspired by the rumours, he is just as shy (as the word Gafa suggests) to talk about the rumours.
"If you say someone is broke what can they not afford that they truly need in this life? Being broke is a subjective thing" he says.
"It was just an unfortunate situation. No one got killed. Can we just move on, please," he adds.
"There is these perceptions that people are 'arrogant' or that they are they are a 'saint' or that they are 'broke' but these are just labels we get given as we go along in life," he explains.
Still, he says the song is meant to encourage those in tough situations, to dust themselves off and keep working.
"If you having a hard time you can slot it in and it builds you up until you can say 'okay, let me go out into the world and make something out of it."
"So many people are going through these struggles but no ones really rapping about it," he tells us.
