Uzalo rubbishes Gxabhashe exit rumours

Johannesburg- Uzalo's producers have rubbished rumours that Mpumelelo Bhulose, aka Gxabhashe, was ever leaving the series. 

This comes after months of confusion and swirling rumours that Gxabhashe was going to be killed off in the series, after he was allegedly fired by management for repeatedly clashing with producers and co-workers. 

This week it was reported that Gxabhashe would be returning to the series, after he begged for his job. (Read that story here)

According to TvPlus, Gxabashe's on-screen death on 27 July was all planned as a plot twist. The magazine is reporting that Gxabhashe was in fact on holiday for three weeks, that's why he's been off-screen. 

The show's publicist Marang Setshwaelo confirmed to the mag that the rumours "are nonsense" and that "Mpumelelo is definitely part of the Uzalo family."

"I had a bit of a break but in between. I would go back maybe once a week to shoot a scene where I'm recuperating and stuff like that," he told the mag. 

It's believed that viewers can look forward to seeing these scenes in November.
