Ndivhuho Mutsila has been on our screens for 17 years. So it is no surprise that the actor, who played Albert Mukwevho on the show, had a major impact on his fans. His shocking departure was not only emotional for the public, but it was painful for him as well.
"The shooting scene was a bit emotional for me. It was touching and I felt that this could happen to me in real life," he told The Juice. Viewers lost their minds on social media after that episode aired with some even threatening never to watch the show again unless they bring him back.
According to the show's creative producer Duma Ndlovu, Vho-Albert's death was one of the most watched episodes this year.
"I really didn't realise how big my character was until I saw the response on social media. The reaction from fans has been great."
He said since his departure from the show, he's had different encounters with fans. "When they see me they have this strange look in their eyes like they have seen a ghost," he said, adding that people are generally good when they run into him.
He added that he is very humbled by the support.
