DJ Black Coffee's journey to stardom is truly inspiring.
A California-based production company has made a real scenes film of Black Coffee's childhood and his journey to becoming an internationally recognised music icon.
The video covers every aspect of Black Coffee's life, from the conditions he grew up under in Durban’s Umlazi township to the challenges he and other children faced when attending a previously disadvantaged school.
The film also takes an in-depth look at the years after the car accident which left him paralysed in one arm. In the documentary, Black Coffee visits his former high school to motivate the children there.
He used the visit to inspire the children to have faith and to believe that they could also be stars one day.
Black Coffee talks about how he spent most of his childhood dreaming that he would one day be a super star. "All I had was faith," he explains.
Someone pass the tissues please!
