Joburg- The Princess of Africa has been honoured by UNICEF for her contribution to saving lives across Africa.
The legendary singer was chosen to be a goodwill ambassador a decade ago for the organisation's Roll Back Malaria campaign.
A press conference was recently held in Yvonne's honour to celebrate her achievements during the past ten years.
And, Yvonne has travelled to the most remote villages across the continent trying to inspire change and help people with their social challenges.
"The Roll Back Malaria Partnership is proud to work with Yvonne Chaka Chaka and we are grateful for her tireless dedication to the women and children of the world. With Yvonne's support, we've seen malaria financing triple in the past decade and malaria mortality rates have decreased by 55% in Africa since 2000," said RBM representative, Herve Verhoosel.
An emotional Yvonne thanked everyone who has supported her through this journey over the past decade.
And, she has a message just for you:
