Johannesburg - There may have been reports of chaos and darkness at this weekends SA Traditional Music Achievement Awards, but at least rapper Zakwe walked away a happy man.
The rapper won the highly contested Best Vernacular Hip Hop award at the event, for his collaboration with Duncan on the hit track, Reverse.
According to Sowetan, the award ceremony was thrown into darkness on Saturday evening when generators at the event ran out of diesel.
The paper's sources allege that the organisers left it too late to check on the fuel in the generator, and when it was needed, they had to send someone to get fuel at a petrol station a few kilometers away from the event.
The show's organisers have since apologised to their guests, including President Obama's step-grandmother, for the inconvenience.
So Zakwe fans, maybe you shouldn't say the awards were "lit."
