Johannesburg - He's known as one of the country's most prolific TV/movie gangsters, but actor Israel Makoe says he knows his award is on it's way.
Israel starred in the Oscar-winning local film, Tsotsi, and plays the role of gangster Jakes in e.tv's new action drama series, Z'bondiwe which premiered this evening.
It's a familiar role for Israel, who served time for being a real-life gangster, but one he says will one day bring him the awards he deserves.
"I believe that you might be good, or even considered good by others, but convincing the judges on the panel is another story. But I have a feeling that one day my award is there. It is waiting for me. Waiting for the right movie or show, for something we'll see and say 'yah, this one deserves an award", he told The Juice.
Check out Z'bondiwe tonight on e.tv at 9:30pm and see if this is the big show Israel is talking about ...
