Zola's personal note to viewers ahead of Utatakho

Johannesburg- Ahead of the reality show's debut tonight, Utatakho host, Zola took some time to write a personal note to viewers, explaining what to expect from the show.

In an opinion based press statement Zola, who is no stranger to the limelight, revealed that the interest shown from people in the show has been "overwhelming and exciting."

Utatakho is a reality show, which is based around people's search for their fathers. "There's been so much interest that it's been overwhelming in some ways to realise just how much people out there want to talk about this subject, how interested people are. It's also very exciting - not just because of the attention the show is receiving, but because this is something I am very passionate about," he explained.

Zola added that absent fathers is a real issue in today's society, which has caused many people a lot of pain and confusion. "Being able to help a few people deal with this is great," he explained.

The kwaito icon and TV personality also revealed that while filming the series, he's learnt a great deal about the importance of respect and being able to listen to each other.

Zola also urged viewers to remember that this is not a Hollywood movie, but it's real life and it's hard. "I hope when watching the show our audiences also exercise some respect and when you comment on the show, you do so with compassion and kindness," he added.

The show has taught Zola so many lessons but the one he values most, is that we should always remember that there is always hope despite the odds. "Against all odds let's love and respect each other," he said.

Utatakho premieres on Mzansi Magic tonight at 7.30pm.
