Johannesburg- Today marks 26 years since Tata Nelson Mandela was released from prison on Robben Island, after spending 18 years of his 27 year sentence in isolation.
It was a day that made history not just on home soil but across the globe, as the entire nation celebrated Tata's release.
The former statesman's release marked the change of an era for South Africa, which gave black people a ray of hope after years of oppression under the Apartheid regime.
To commemorate this special day some of Mzansi's celebrities have taken to social media to remind people of the principles Tata Madiba stood for.
Media mogul Basetsana Kumalo paid tribute to Madiba, and hopes that South Africans never give up on the belief in goodness.
Amandla!
