Confirmed: Poppy Ntshongwana is leaving 5FM

Johannesburg - Remember how blindsided you felt when it was announced that Gareth Cliff would be leaving 5FM? Well, we have a horrible sense of Déjà vu right now. Poppy has confirmed to The Juice that she has resigned from 5FM.

"Twelve years ago I never thought that I could make radio my bread and butter, but it happened because I chose the road less travelled at the time. This decision is no different.  In order to unlock the next level, I need to step out of my comfort zone and focus is needed," says Poppy.

Although she has not said what her next step will be, Poppy has thanked 5FM for their support. "I've loved every minute of being on air at 5FM. Thank you to the SABC for the opportunity and for allowing me to grow as a radio presenter and broadcaster.  Radio will always be my first love and be part of my career, but I can’t wait to share what 2016 has in store."

Poppy has been a radio darling for a decade, but in recent months she has grown to include a loyal following of fashionistas with her Superga show range. Fans have also called her an inspiration for the various fitness challenges she has taken part in, and encouraged fans to join her, which has seen her body transform with each incredible step.
