Cops confirm Ntombi and Ace out on R1000 bail

Johannesburg- Former Big Brother Mzansi winners Ntombi and Ace have been granted bail of R1000 after being arrested by police for possession of drugs on Tuesday night.

The reality TV stars were nabbed after police were tipped-off about a suspicious vehicle driving around in Claremont near Sophiatown.

According to SAPS spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, the couple was arrested on the spot and appeared at the Sophiatown Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

"I can confirm that they were arrested and appeared in court yesterday. They have been released on R1000 bail and will appear again on 26 March," Lungelo told The Juice.

Lungelo said that the couple were found in the possession of dagga, a dagga grinding machine and ecstasy, however he could not reveal the value of the drugs.

Meanwhile, Daily Sun is reporting that a source who works at the court told them that the charge may be changed to that of dealing in drugs, which carries a harsher sentence than drug possession.

The paper is also reporting that according to the charge sheet, Ntombi and Ace were allegedly found in possession of 21 packets of cat, 21 packets of mandrax and 21 packets of dagga.

Mzansi Magic still remains mum on the arrest.

"We have not had an opportunity to speak either one of them and are thus not able comment at this stage," said M-Net Head of Public Relations, Nondumiso Mabece.

After winning R2m as the winners of 2015's season of Big Brother Mzansi, the couple landed their own reality show, Ntombi and Ace on Mzansi Magic.
