DJ Sbu urges people to help make a difference

Johannesburg - He may have trended on Twitter on Tuesday after incorrectly claiming that a student had received 100% across all of his subjects, but that hasn't stopped DJ Sbu from urging individuals and businesses to get behind his annual bursary campaign, which he says aims to make a difference to underprivileged school children. 

The campaign forms part of Sbu's non-profit organisation, The Sbusiso Leope Education Foundation (SLEF), which has been running for the past ten years. 

Among other things, the foundation gives talks at high schools, runs feeding schemes, and helps pupils with their school fees. 

"Our annual SLEF bursary drive just kicked off & we appeal to anyone who might be in a position of influence at their workplace or business people who might be willing to assist students with educational funds or companies who are looking for students to help, to please reach out to us. We have thousands of students from disadvantaged communities who have delivered excellent results & are in desperate need of your help," read a statement by Sbu.

Sbu has kicked off the bursary campaign by visiting schools to motivate children.
