Johannesburg- Tension, compromise and co-operation. We saw it all this week on Coke Studio, as some of Mzansi's finest musician's fused their unique talents to create instant hits.
Here's what went down on this week's episode of Coke Studio:
Culoe de Song X Bongeziwe Mabandla
They are perhaps two of the most underrated acts in Mzansi, both having received European recognition, and they met in the Coke Studio this week.
We were worried that the pair might struggle to make a song together, but after some tense moments they finally saw eye-to-eye.
What we loved most about the collab: At the heart of everything, the pair are amazing musicians and it came through with DJ Culoe de Song fusing his contagious beats with the unique Xhosa-folk vibes of Bongeziwe Mabandla. Pure heaven.
Where to get the track: The track is called Dlalangam and you can get it here.
Spoek Mathambo X Samthing Soweto X Card on Spokes
It's the fusion with perhaps the oddest names involved, but the trio's track was nothing to laugh at.
Spoek Mathambo is well on his way to being a global name, but he met up with Cape Town producer Card on Spoke and up-and-coming vocalist, Samthing Soweto, in the Coke Studio to work on something none of them have done before.
What we loved most about the collab: Besides the fun fact that "Spoek" is the same as "Spoke" with the last two letters reversed, the trio had us dancing along to their hope-filled techno-trance track.
Where to get the track: The track is called Vuka Gazi and you can get it here.
