Gagasi FM fires Zookey Zarling

Johannesburg- It's been confirmed that Gagasi FM has officially shown Zookey Zarling the door.

The radio station issued a statement on Wednesday evening, revealing that the decision had been made after much consideration.

Rumours that Zookey had landed in hot water with the station first surfaced in October, but Gagasi would not be drawn into confirming the speculation.

At the time, Zookey's legal representatives explained that they were sill in discussions with the station. (Read that story here

"Following several meetings between Gagasi FM management and Ms Zukisa "Zookey" Vutela in person, and later with her legal counsel, during the period prior and during her absence on air, the station has decided to terminate its contract with Ms Vutela. As indicated above the station exhausted all resonable efforts before making this decision. However, the station was left with no choice but to proceed in this manner as a more amicable agreement could not be reached. Throughout the station has kept the matter private until now to respect the dignity of all involved. We wish Zookey all the best in her future endeavours," reads the statement.

The news comes just days after Zookey found herself making headlines for the wrong reasons yet again. Zookey and Uzalo actor Kay Sibiya have been locked in an ongoing public feud over the paternity of her unborn child.

A few weeks ago, Zookey publicly slapped Kay with accusations of dodging his responsibilities.

Kay then hit back, calling for proof to back up her statements by taking a DNA test.  And, in the most recent string of reports, Kay's family have accused Zookey of harassment. (Find that story here
