Here are our hottest collabs of the year

Johannesburg – Some of the year’s biggest songs have been the product of two artists coming together for, sometimes, surprising collaborations.

Here’s five of our favourites:

Wizkid x Drake

Drake is arguably the most popular rapper in the world right now, so for the 6 God to lend some bars to the African hip hop heavyweight, Wizkid is massive! In fact, it was so massive it was international!

Cassper Nyovest xThe Game

Probably just as big was local rapper Cassper Nyovest’s collaboration with American superstar rapper, The Game. With The Game on the verge of a MASSIVE comeback in 2016, this song could soon go down as one of the biggest collabs done by a South African hip-hop artist EVER!

AKA x JR, Burna Boy, Da L.E.S

It may have dropped in December 2014 ,but AKA’s mega hit with JR, Burna Boy and Da L.E.S, All Eyes on Me, was the unofficial anthem of 2015. The song scooped several awards for best collab and dominated radio for what seemed like eternity.

Toya De Lazy x Cassper Nyovest

When Toya released her highly anticipated second album in 2014, most people’s eyes (and ears) darted to her surprise collaboration with rapper, Cassper Nyovest. They made us wait into 2015 for it to be released as a single, but the wait was well worth it. DJ Shimza x Dr Malinga

If there’s one thing Dr Malinga can do, it is sing (and kick!) So when one of the country’s finest DJs asks Malinga to pour some magic on a contagious beat, you know it’s going to be a winner. It’s such a hit it even spawned a viral dance challenge online.
