Cape Town – Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld wants South Africans to pray for President Jacob Zuma’s resignation.
The My Hartjie singer took to Facebook on Thursday to ask that South Africans join her in prayer so that "Zuma and his corrupt government" will step down.
According to Karlien this method previously worked when people got together in their masses to pray for rain.
"During the drought we got together and filled stadiums asking God to let it rain…and he answered. It started raining across the country," Karlien wrote.
The 30-year-old now wants South Africans to do the same with Zuma with the hope that God will listen and "save the country".
"God has listened to us before. Why will he ignore us now?" Karlien asked.
