Kelly Khumalo pays tribute to Koyo Bala

Johannesburg- Koyo Bala's friends and family gathered at Bassline in Newtown on Tuesday afternoon to remember and celebrate the musician's life. 

The memorial service was attended by big names from the entertainment industry, which included Lerato Kganyago, Kelly Khumalo, Somizi, Dr Malinga and Amstel Maboa. 

The 3Sum member passed away last week after a long battle with cancer at the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. (Read more on that here

The singer's zest for life and determination to educate people about gay rights took centre stage at the service. 

EFF leader Julius Malema, who was also in attendance, commended the singer's attitude towards life, and for living his life unashamedly of his lifestyle. 

Koyo's funeral will take place on 19 March at the Gugulethu Sports Complex and he will be laid to rest at Ottery Grave Yard in Cape Town. 

Kelly K and some of Koyo's friends paid tribute to him by dedicating a song to him.
