Johannesburg - After its local debut last week, Khanyi Mbau's first feature film, Happiness is a Four Letter Word, has scored a screening at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival.
The film, which also stars Mmabatho Montsho and Renate Stuurman, is being featured at the European Film Market which forms part of the Berlin International Film Festival until 19th February.
"We are really thrilled to have its international market premiere at such a prestigious event as the Berlinale. The film is a perfect example of the high quality of feature films currently being produced in South Africa," The film's sale agent, AAA Entertainment said in a statement.
The European Film Market acts as the official market for the festival, exposing the film to hundreds of potential buyers from around the world.
In other words, the film could be picked up by an overseas distributor and shown around the world like Terry Pheto's Ayanda and the Mechanic (more on that here). Now, wouldn't that be awesome?
