Johannesburg - It’s not easy being successful hit music duo, Kings of the Weekend. There’s the groupies, and the shows, and all the other trappings of fame.
But somehow DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves have survived.
Talking to The Juice recently, DJ Sphectacula opens up about the cost of fame to him and his loved ones.
“It’s hard. Every stage brings it’s own challenges,” Sphectacula says. “Your partner needs to understand that they are also part of the project and they have to expect the pressure which will no doubt come. I always say you have to strike while the iron is hot, or while you're popular, and she has to both accept and support that,” he says.
But it’s not only about his relationship with the missus. Sphectacula says it’s also important to form an unbreakable bond with bandmate, DJ Naves.
“Our relationship is about respect and trust. I respect and trust him. We have a joint vision, a joint goal so when he’s sure about something, even if I’m not, I will trust him and if he’s confident about it I know it’s going to be a success,“ he says.
