Lira graces the cover of Forbes Woman Africa

Johannesburg- Award-winning singer, Lira has become a force to be reckoned with over the past ten years.

Lira has not only built a thriving empire on home soil, but has a growing following abroad. This year marked a decade since Lira quit her job as an internal auditor to follow her passion for music.

Even though the journey couldn't have been an easy one, Lira had faith in her dream. In a recent Facebook post Lira reflected on the reason she left her job ten years ago.

"I realised only today in a much clearer way that it was because I had become unhappy and I was actually just looking for something I could do with my life that would make me happy. And the last time I had felt happy at that time was when I was on stage singing. So I began to think of how I could sing and make a living. In that moment I realised that I found what I was looking for! I got to sing, make a living and be HAPPY," Lira wrote.

She added that this changed her whole outlook on life and all her pursuits. "Our focus has to be joy in everything we do. Any other outlook brings about stress, burden, anxiety and lack of enjoyment. With this I promise you I have been armed with a powerful way to look at all I do," she added.

And, Lira's star certainly star keeps shining.

Added to her long list of achievements this year, Lira sizzles on the cover of Forbes Woman Africa magazine.
