Mampho Brescia excited about Mfolozi Street debut

Johannesburg- Actress Mampho Brescia is set to make her debut on SABC1's drama series, Mfolozi Street on Thursday night.

The seSotho drama series has become a firm favourite among viewers for its gripping storyline.

Mampho has joined Mfolozi's star-studded cast as Sibongile, a mom who abandoned her child and has to work incredibly hard to build a relationship between them.

Speaking to The Juice, Mampho said she's incredibly excited and nervous about her debut tonight.

"I'm very excited and nervous because I hope that I've played the character as honestly as I can. I hope that the performance is as true as possible for fans," she added.

Mampho, who also plays the role of Iris on Isibaya, explained that the past few months have been incredibly exciting but challenging all at the same time.

"Playing two different characters at the same time can be quite taxing. As an actor it takes an immense amount of energy and emotion to play a certain role, and it can get quite challenging to switch between the two," she said.

Mampho explained that because she's played Iris for the past three years, she's a lot easier to play compared to Sibongile, who is more complicated.

"Iris is a lot less complicated than Sibongile, but as an actor it's very important not to become mediocre and add some spice to your acting," she added.

Catch Mampho on Mfolozi Street every Thursday night at 20.30pm.
