Mary Twala to make her big screen return

Johannesburg - Only 5 months after apparently surviving an alleged botched operation, veteran actress Mary Twala is set to make her big screen return.

The actress, who has starred in several huge international films, including Sarafina and Beat the Drum, seems to have recovered from her horror hospital experience earlier this year and, according to City Press, will be returning to the silver screen in award-winning director Akin Omotoso's new film, Vaya.

The film tells the story of three strangers who board a train from Durban to Joburg. The trio never meet, but their life stories intersect until they are all linked to one common event.

There is no word yet on what role Mary will play in the film, but she will apparently star alongside Sihle Xaba (Otelo Burning) and Warren Masemola (Scandal!).

It seems you just can't keep an good (old) girl down...
