Johannesburg - Muvhango actor Macdonald Ndou probably can't go out in public without someone confusing him for his character KK. But it wasn't always like this.
Talking to Daily Sun this week, Macdonald reveals that there was a time when he had to work as a griller at Wimpy just to make ends meet.
“I wanted to be closer to my dream of being a full-time actor but my phone didn’t ring a lot,” he says.
“I went back to the theatre and I did radio dramas on Phalaphala FM. I later trained to be an actor at the University of Venda and then studied stage performance at the State Theatre,” the Muvhango adds.
Through these, and several other experiences, Macdonald has developed a humble nature that is very different to his flashy and cunning on-screen character, KK.
“I’m reserved. I wear jeans, takkies and T-shirts. I can walk into a room and no one will even notice that I’m there,” he says.
“KK’s way of laughing only happens on set. I’ve never had KK’s rhythm and I never feel that I rule the world. KK is a cheater who uses people,” he adds.
