No word on Pearl Thusi's Metro FM return

Johannesburg- This Saturday will mark two weeks since the SABC confirmed that co-hosts Pearl Thusi and Phat Joe had been taken off air.

Rumour has it that the reason for their suspension could be because of Bonang Matheba. According to newspaper reports at the time listeners allegedly got fed up with Phat Joe and Pearl "bashing" Bonang, and complained to the station.

At the time SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed to The Juice that they had been taken off air, due to a disagreement with management, but would not be drawn into commenting on the rumours.

Phat Joe and Pearl's early morning weekend show, The Real Phat Joe has become a firm favourite among listeners, who wake-up social media every Saturday morning with a string of comments and debate around the show's topics.

When listeners woke up to unfamiliar voices on their fave station, they took to social media to express how much they miss Pearl and Phat Joe.

Despite the buzz around the suspension, there is still no word from the SABC on when Pearl and Phat Joe will be back on air.

"This is an internal matter between Metro and the presenters, and only once the issue is resolved will the public be notified about it. We will never talk about our private issues in the public because it can be misinterpreted. If the issues are resolved then listeners will hear them on air, if not, then they won't be on air," said Kaizer.

So there you have it...it's now just a waiting game.
