Nomzamo: I didn't grow up in a privileged home

Johannesburg - Actress Nomzamo Mbatha has come a long way from her humble beginnings.

But it was not an easy road for her.

Nomzamo covers the latest issue of Destiny magazine, where she opened up about what it took to build her career.

The Umlilo and Isibaya star, who has become a household name in just a few short years, hails from KwaMashu in Durban. Nomzamo revealed to the magazine that she did not come from an affluent family, and some decisions she had to make were really tough.

Believe it or not, Nomzamo started studying towards an accounting degree at UCT, but her heart was with the entertainment industry.

Nomzamo explained that it was tough to choose her passion over job security.

At the top of Nomzamo's list of goals has always been to take care of her family. "My only dream was to go back home and fix my grandmother's house and take care of my family because they were struggling," Nomzamo told the magazine.

She added that wanting to bring about change in her family is what drives her to work harder.

On a side note: Let's take a moment to talk about how beautiful Nomzamo looks in the below video!
