Johannesburg - Police have on Monday confirmed that a 26-year-old man has been arrested on charges of robbery after allegedly being involved in the Rapulana Seiphemo hijacking incident.
The actor was involved in a fatal car accident in February which left three people dead and the actor and one person in a critical condition in hospital.
Various reports indicate that Seiphemo was the victim of a botched hijacking, after being accosted by robbers, the actor reportedly fought them off, leading to the car accident on the N14 near Diepsloot.
The Police's Tekiso Mofokeng has confirmed that the person who was in hospital under police guard was involved in the incident and has been arrested. "He is either in court today or tomorrow. He was charged with robbery."
Mofokeng explained that the person could not be charged with hijacking, as the hijacking was "not completed" therefore a charge of robbery was applied.
Seiphemo has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home under the care of family and friends.
