Phindile Gwala's identity stolen by fraudsters

Johannesburg- Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala is living every celebrity's worst nightmare. 

Social media fraudsters have set up a Facebook page in her name, where they are insulting fans, sharing bogus job vacancies and spreading false gossip about other celebrities. 

Speaking to Sunday World, Phindile explained that she's at her wits' end over the fake page. 

"I discovered it late last year. I tried to report it to Facebook and had no joy. From their response, it looks like they are unable to close that page," she said. 

Phindile added that she has no idea why someone would target her, but is incredibly upset over the debacle. 

The bogus Facebook page currently has 63 708 likes and is filled with pictures of Phindile supposedly taken from her Instagram account. 

Please don't follow this Facebook page as I'm not the one responsible for anything posted on it. They using my name to insult, degrade and scam people. They post everything that I post here on IG so the page is very active and thousands of people following this page are convinced it is me. I tried to report this but I'm not winning... Umuntu omnyama uhlezi ecindezela omunye omnyama and we wonder why other race call us animals. This has to stop!!! #MyNameIsPhindileGwala
