Johannesburg- Actor and musician Anga Makubalo, popularly known as NaakMusiq, has allegedly landed in hot water with the law.
The actor and two of his friends are allegedly facing assault charges, after they apparently beat up a security guard at his home in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
According to Sunday Sun, Anga was allegedly hosting a party at his home in Burgundy Hills Estate, when fellow residents in the estate complained about the noise.
Speaking to the newspaper the security guard, Musa Gumbi explained that he went to investigate after receiving complaints.
"I went to investigate. But a highly-intoxicated Naak and his friends moered me. The whole estate was watching and some tenants wanted to beat him up. Now he threatens me, and I believe my life is in danger," Musa told the paper.
The paper claims another guard who did not want to be named collaborated Musa's version of events, telling the publication that Naak did beat Musa up and hurl insults at them.
Roodepoort police station spokesperson, warrant officer Nonhlanhla Khumalo confirmed to the newspaper that a case of assault had been opened against NaakMusiq and two other suspects, who will appear at the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Speaking to The Juice on Tuesday afternoon, Afrotainment boss DJ Tira, whose record label Naak belongs to said there is no comment at this stage.
"At this stage we are unable to comment on the matter as we still don't have the full details on what happened. We will be having a meeting with Naak during the course of this week and will hopefully be able to comment once we have more details," explained DJ Tira.
