Reports: Professor upsets religious group

Johannesburg -  Professor has reportedly upset devout Zionists after the Kwaito artist performed on stage in the group's holy clothing over the weekend.

According to Daily Sun, members of the religious group were outraged after Professor performed at the Crown Gospel Awards wearing the group's signature white robes and wooden cross stick, known as Isikhali.

Church spokesman Reverend Cosmos Ngcobo apparently told the paper the church's congregation was outraged at the performance and that God would punish Professor.

"If I wasn’t a Christian, I would swear at this boy. He insulted our church members. We are very angry. People like Professor must respect the Zion Church in Christ as it was formed when Jesus went to pray on the mountain,” Reverand Cosmos said.

A sorry Professor responded to the backlash, saying he didn’t mean to insult anybody. “It was just attire. I wear it when I perform gospel songs. I apologise to anybody who felt I stepped on their toes. But I’m not going to stop wearing it if I feel like doing so, because we all have our ways of connecting to God,” Professor said.

So, maybe a Christmas performance at the Zionist church may not be on the cards for Professor this year...
