Johannesburg- Musicians DJ Sbu and Zakes Bantwini have both opened cases against Penny Sparrow, and several others whose racial comments have gone viral online.
Online social media posts from the likes of Penny Sparrow, Justin Van Vuuren and Chris Hart went viral this week, captivating the nation and sparking a national debate on race (more on that here).
After several days of outrage, groups of citizens have started to make their anger known by laying charges against Penny and others.
DJ Sbu was among a group of people who opened a case of crimen injuria against Penny at the Hillbrow Police Station on Tuesday, taking to Instagram to share a snap of himself at the station with Shaka Sisulu and Zizi Kodwa.
In Durban, musician Zakes Bantwini encouraged friends and supporters to meet him at the Human Rights Office to lay a human rights case against Penny and several other individuals.
We have officially opened a human rights case again Penny, Carron and Jan. We will need your support moving forward #racismiscrime
