Cape Town - Sonia Sedibe has landed a hot new TV role.
According to a report by Sunday World the former Generations star will be playing a crime detective in e.tv’s new action series, The Alliance.
Sonia’s most recent role was that of con-artist Thuli in e.tv’s Gold Diggers.
According to e.tv The Alliance is a fast-paced eight episode drama series.
It depicts the life of a popular kingpin Bra Jay, also known as the Reserve Bank Governor of Soweto.
Bra Jay has a thirst for power and rules those around him with an iron fist.
Sonia’s character, Lydia, is part of a unit that is trying to bring down Bra Jay.
The action drama will put issues such as organised crime, blood diamonds, drug cartels, money laundering and their damning consequences in the spotlight.
The first episode of The Alliance will air on Wednesday, 27 April at 21:30.
