Top British TV actress promises to build SA clinic

Cape Town – International TV shows love to use Cape Town as a filming location - from Homeland starring Claire Danes to high seas saga Black Sails.

The most recent production to jump on the band wagon is an English show, Call the Midwife, which is currently filming in Mamre, a small town a few hours outside of the Mother City.

One of the stars of the show is Helen George – who stars as Nurse Trixie Franklin – and has been shooting along with co-stars in the dusty streets and clinics of the tiny town. The experience seems to have really hit home with the blonde actress who has pledged her financial support to build a clinic for the people of Mamre, according to The Daily Mail.

We’re not going to give you any spoilers but here are some beautiful pictures from the actress’ personal Instagram.
