Year in review: Lillian Dube survives cancer scare

Johannesburg - TV personality and cancer survivor, Lillian Dube has used her experience to become an advocate for the disease.

The Soul City star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. And, after being in remission for seven years, the disease reared its ugly head again this year.

Lillian was admitted into hospital in September this year, after the recurrence of breast cancer. The TV star underwent an operation to remove her entire right breast.

The operation was a success and within two weeks Lillian was back on the streets raising awareness about the disease.

Lillian’s motto and advice to other women is to undergo regular check-ups, as early detection saves lives.
