Johannesburg - Sure, you know that Zikhona Sodlaka is a talented actress, but did you know that she also has the voice of an angel?
The Mandela:Long Walk to Freedom actress has starred in musicals before, but she has decided to take her musical talent to new heights with a solo debut performance at the upcoming Gospel in Me Concert.
Zikhona will join the likes of Tribute "Birdie" Mboweni, Jobie Clarke and The Soil, in singing gospel songs at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg on 11 March 2016.
Zikhona tells The Juice that she is super excited (and nervous) to perform.
"When they told me about the event they told me that it's more about musicians sharing the gospel in them, rather than just hearing gospel singers just sing their normal gospel song," Zikhona explains. "And so I took it... even though I was afraid."
Zikhona says that she is aware that it is a big platform, but that she would have to wait until after the performance to gauge whether she will pursue a music career in the future.
"I don't know if this is the start of something. I only know that this is the first step towards singing without being backed up by acting, and if I do choose to sing after this then perhaps the time has come."
