Cape Town – We love the boys from Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues, but their latest video is a cheap stunt.
In a campaign named #stoptheknot, the comedic duo took to the streets of Cape Town and gave what they call "drive-by haircuts" to random strangers in public.
Armed with a pair of scissors Nic Smal and Gareth Allison chopped off the locks of unsuspecting men whose hair was styled in a certain way that the YouTube stars didn’t approve of.
Josua De Villiers, who allegedly witnessed one of the incidents, wrote the following comment on the YouTube video: "I witnessed the cutting of the first knot and the guy has so shocked and distraught he didn't know what to do!!!! What if someone shaved off your moustache??? What then? You wouldn't be laughing."
Nic confirmed to Channel24 that the video is real. "It’s as real as load shedding," he said.
"Anyone who is offended by this obviously doesn’t know how expensive haircuts are in Cape Town," Nic added.
Funny or shocking? Watch the video and decide for yourself:
