Los Angeles – The internet almost went into meltdown this week as it was revealed that the much loved praying emoji was actually just a high five.
All the drama started when a Philadelphia TV station, 6ABC News, reported that the emoji that everyone likes to use to indicate prayer was actually the icon for a virtual high five.

But not everyone was convinced. Allie Jones from Gawker wrote; “The thumbs are on the same side. When you bring your hands together to pray, your thumbs are on the same side.
“When you high five someone in a conventional manner—right hand to right hand—your respective thumbs end up on opposite sides.”
