Moosie the cat survived a 2 month move inside it's owner's couch

Los Angeles - A cat survived a 3 700 mile (over 5 000km) journey lasting two months inside a sofa.

The kitty, called Moosie, went missing while his owners were packing up their house to move from El Paso, Texas, to Fairbanks, Alaska.

After assuming their pet had run away the couple continued with their move to the northern US state and were shocked to find Moosie severely dehydrated and undernourished hidden inside their futon when it arrived at their new home two months later.

According to the Metro newspaper, they rushed the cat to a veterinary surgery where he underwent an emergency operation and was found to have liver damage.

Fortunately Moosie is now on the mend.

His owner Kymberly Chelf said: "We're thrilled to have him back, but what an awful experience he had to go through."
