Cape Town – Smack in the middle of the recent debate surrounding the state of our beautiful country, comes a heartwarming story that proves South Africa still has a heart of gold.
This story on the magical powers of social media will restore your faith in humanity.
It all started with a very sad Facebook post:
Nick Becker, a local muso, took to social media on Sunday to spread the unfortunate news of losing his beloved saxophone.
Along with his contact details and a plea to get it back, he offered a generous reward of R25k to the person that returns it to him.
Only 48 hours after uploading the post onto Facebook, it received 5000 shares worldwide as well as countless offers of help to Nick find the saxophone.

The hero responds:
Fortunately for Nick it was found and returned by Jai Reddy - who came across the sax and realised who it belonged to.
The best part of it all is that upon returning it, Nick kept his word and asked for details to pay Jai. But Jai refused Nick’s money and suggested a bottle of Jameson instead.
Not only did Jai happily return a very sentimental piece to Nick but was humble enough not to take advantage of a hefty payday.
