Los Angeles - A video has emerged showing Spongebob Squarepants and Mickey Mouse beating up a man in the middle of a road.

The incident occurred in Russia after an altercation on the road led to a man getting out of his vehicle and approaching a van containing four men dressed as the furry characters who, despite his best efforts, fought him to the floor.

The clip has racked up millions of views since it was published online on Tuesday due to the unexpected behaviour of the usually loveable characters.
