Viral game ranger video a stunt by Careers24

Cape Town - That viral video of an angry game ranger swearing at a German tourist turned out to be a part of an advertising campaign for Careers24.

The sneaky folks over at SA's top jobbing website have come forward to claim ownership of a video that went viral locally and internationally this week.

The video was even picked up by some international publications and caught the attention of sites such as Fox News and The Daily Mail UK. Since it went live it has received 170 000 YouTube views and nearly 260 000 views on Traveller24 since it went live last Sunday.

The video features a tourist repeatedly getting in the way and speaking loudly while on a walk with a game ranger. The ranger eventually loses his cool, starts swearing and storms off leaving the whole group of tourists to fend for themselves while a potentially dangerous animal lurks nearby.

Nadia Boucher Coombe, Head of Marketing for Careers24, commented that the idea sprang from the insight that everyone looks for a career that is right for them. "Many people tend to settle for jobs that might not necessarily be the right fit, which is what we wanted the video to highlight."

She added: "This is where Careers24 steps in: we offer thousands of quality positions, whether you’re sick of your current job and need to move on or straight out of university."
