Cape Town – Ricky Ma is a 42-year-old graphic designer from Hong Kong and has done what many would think is impossible.
He has designed a lifelike female robot called Mark 1. While Ricky declines to name the actress he has used as a model for the robot, it is clear to see Mark 1 looks strikingly similar to Scarlett Johansson.
Watch a clip of Mark 1 here:
According to Reuters, working with a budget of over $50 000, Ricky took a year and a half to create the life-sized robot on the balcony of his home.
Mark 1 has many features such as the ability to respond to a set of programmed verbal commands spoken into a microphone.
The female prototype can also create detailed facial expressions, including winking and smiling.
In response to a compliment from Ricky, its brows and the muscles around its eyes relax, and the corners of its lips lift, creating a softer smile, and it responds: "Hehe, thank you."
Reuters reports Mark 1 was constructed using 3D printing technology. Along with its silicon skin and 3D printed skeleton, Ricky takes Mark 1's lifelike feel to a whole new level.
