Cape Town – Bottle-flipping is the new planking.
It all started with Mike Senatore, a senior at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte.
The 18-year-old had the internet simultaneously freaking out and scratching its head at his talent show trick that saw him going viral.
Senatore performed the bottle-flip on stage during the show and for someone reason became an internet sensation. (Watch it here.)
Like most things on the World Wide Web it doesn’t really make a lot of sense but it’s happening anyway.
Since then the bottle-flip has inspired hundreds of spin-offs, the latest being a YouTube video by How Ridiculous showing off some pretty impressive bottle-flipping skills.
