Eskom says it will inform the public of its winter outlook by the end of April, but load shedding can't be ruled out.
During an update on the Energy Action Plan on Tuesday, Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa also noted improvements in the power system, which has spared the country from load shedding for nearly two weeks.
Eskom has attributed this to sustained, available generation capacity, enough emergency reserves and low demand during the Easter weekend.
