In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Van Der Beek joined celebs including Terry Crews and Rob Schneider in sharing his assault story.
The Dawson’s Creek actor empathised with those who have remained silent and applauded those who've spoken out.
He went on to recount his own experience tweeting: "I’ve had my ass grabbed by older, powerful men, I’ve had them corner me in inappropriate sexual conversations when I was much younger..."
