The Vicki Terblanche murder trial has been postponed to May 24 in the High Court in Gqeberha today.
Arnold Terblanche, who is accused of orchestrating the murder of his estranged wife, Vicki Terblanche, appeared this morning in court with his co-accused, Vicki's boyfriend at the time of her death, Reinhardt Leach.
Vicki Terblanche's body was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes in October 2021.
During today's court proceedings, state advocate Marius Stander handed the defense team the list of possible Section 204 witnesses. Section 204 allows a witness to provide evidence for the prosecution which incriminates the witness. If the testimony is honest, the witness may be discharged from prosecution. The court decides whether to grant immunity from prosecution to a witness, after the evaluation of the evidence of the witness.
The defense team will now consult on what action to take with regard to the potential Section 204 witnesses.
Among the names on the list are Terblanche's daughter, Natalie Nell, as well as his domestic worker Nyameko Sharon Yelani, who was on the crime scene after the murder. Also on the list is Arnold Terblanche's girlfriend at the time, Krystal Wiggill as well as Dylan Cullis, who was last year sentenced to 18 years in prison following his confession to his involvement in the murder.
During today's proceedings, Arnold Terblanche was dressed in a leather jacket and jeans. He was accompanied by his daughter, Natalie Nell.
Also in the gallery was Leach's father, who has been attending many of Leach's previous court appearances since the beginning of this case.
Terblanche is out on bail, while Leach is in custody after previously abandoning his application for bail.
