6 things Julius Malema told Anele Mdoda

Cape Town - EFF leader Julius Malema recently sat down with local talk show host Anele Mdoda on her show and gave her some amazing insight into his political history.

The popular (and newly slender) political figure talks about everything with Anele, from his upbringing to views on Jacob Zuma to how he stays healthy.

Here are 6 things you might not know about Julius Malema that he told Anele Mdoda on her show Real Talk:

1. His weight loss secrets are cutting out sugar, ditching junk food and starting his day with a run.

2. Julius revealed that he was always an activist and that when he was a driving force behind protests at his school (and was threatened with expulsion because of it) his grandmother stood up for him with the authorities.

3. The member of parliament shared that he started in politics when he was nine, by working in his community to get people to vote.

4. He is not and was never into sport, but used to tell his grandmother and mother that he was going to soccer when he was actually going to do political work with the ANC.

5.  His wife loves to ‘drag’ him to the movies but Julius doesn’t enjoy it that much because he is always worried that he’ll nod off and go to sleep and often misses things said on screen.

6. He doesn’t like comedy and thinks that Trevor Noah’s impersonation of him isn’t quite spot on.
