Bruce Lee inspired TV series being filmed in Cape Town

Cape Town – HBO’s Cinemax pilot series Warrior is being filmed exclusively in Cape Town.

The series, inspired by an original idea from the writings of legendary martial artist Bruce Lee, is set against the backdrop of San Francisco's Chinatown in the aftermath of the Civil War and tells the story of a martial arts prodigy who finds himself caught up in the bloody Tong wars.

It stars Andrew Koji (Call the Midwife), Olivia Cheng (Marco Polo), Jason Tobin (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift , Dianne Doan (Vikings), Kieran Bew (Beowulf), Dean S Jagger (Game of Thrones) and Joe Taslim (Star: Trek Beyond).

Filming for the series began shooting in October with the series expected to air late 2018 or early 2019.

While here the cast and crew have shared behind-the-scenes set pictures and have also been exploring the Mother City.

Production has gone on a break and will resume early in 2018.
